What is couture?
couture directly translated from its French origin means “dressmaking” or “sewing”, however the word couture can also be used to describe the designing and manufacturing of beautiful gowns to set requirements and measurements. We design for all shapes and sizes and our emphasis is on creating a flattering garment that moulds to one’s body. all our dresses are handmade and produced to the highest of standards to ensure it is exactly what you have dreamed of.
our process
01.
the consultation
your journey starts with a consultation. this can be scheduled in person or via a virtual appointment
02.
Design & Quote
you will be sent a quote containing the specifics of your garment, including a rough drawn sketch as well as the associated costs
03.
Procurement
we will Source the desirable fabrics and trims
04.
toile fittings
the design has now been established and a toile/mock-up of the garment is created in calico. these fittings are used to test the design, style and fit of the bespoke garment. in this stage, we can adjust and add small details to mould the garment to the desired shape that suits you and your unique body
(This consists of 2 or 3 fittings – we require that you wear the undergarments as well as the shoes that you will be wearing on the day)
05.
dress construction
after the toile fittings have been perfected we start creating your dream in its beautifully curated fabrics to create the end result.
the last step is when you come for your final fitting to ensure that everything fits perfectly and is exactly as imagined
